Where artists, traditions, and ideas meet to shape new possibilities.
Where artists, traditions, and ideas meet to shape new possibilities.
T-Michael’s Noto vision T–Wabisato is a non-profit hybrid cultural and creative hub located on the Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa, Japan. It serves as a platform for artists, chefs and cultural patrons to connect through immersive residencies, curated experiences and cultural programming. Rooted in Japanese traditions and influenced by Ghanaian and Norwegian aesthetics and sensibilities, T–Wabisato facilitates creative exchange, cultural recalibration and sustainable engagement with the local context by cultivating a space where creativity, culture and community intersect. T-Wabisato aims to blur boundaries between disciplines and traditions by fostering meaningful exchange between local and global voices

Noto Town, located on the eastern coast of the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, is best known for its stunning natural setting, rich traditions, fresh cuisine, warm and resilient community – a place to experience the authentic countryside of Japan. Nearby Wajima, renowned for its exquisite urushi lacquerware, adds another layer of cultural depth to the region. Just a few hours away lies Kanazawa, celebrated for Kenroku-en—one of Japan’s most beautiful gardens—its well-preserved samurai and geisha districts, contemporary art at the 21st Century Museum and a thriving culinary scene that bridges tradition and innovation
A perfect setting for recalibration, revel, artistry, craft, culinary heritage, film and photography, fashion campaigns, intimate events, talks and more. T‑Wabisato House will hold the local and international in tandem and interrelationship. The space opens up possibilities not only for T‑Wabisato Residency and bespoke stays, but also for those who desire a peaceful, minimalist, highly curated space to utilize as a backdrop for artistic endeavours.

The Gallery space at T-Wabisato will be dedicated to archiving and showcasing the works of visiting and residing creatives to Noto. A small boutique within T‑Wabisato House will sell examples of exquisite local craftsmanship as well specially crafted T–Michael goods available exclusively at T‑Wabisato alongside T-Michael collaborations with local artisans and international friends. Yet another example of the intentional reciprocity T‑Wabisato centres in its support of the arts and of the local community. T‑Wabisato will also have a Tea room and a bar for refreshments, repose and contemplation.

T-Wabisato is a reflection of my trifecta:
Japan / Ghana / Norway“The Japanese in depth and dedicated approach to handcraft and tradition, the Ghanaian hospitable, rich traditions, vibrant and resilient nature of communites plus the Norwegian enduring, earnest, reserved and the sensibilities of dugnad amalgamates into an oasis that fosters growth through mutual respect and appreciation of traditions and cultures.”
T‑Wabisato is sustained by a growing community of members, patrons, and partners who believe in cultural exchange and the value of slow creativity. Their support helps fund residencies, workshops, and local collaborations in Noto.
